Hardly anyone lives in Greenland or the Isle Man, and even fewer immigrate/emigrate from there so its hardly comparable to Scotland
Of course if the Tories were really really evil, I suppose they could allow British passport holders who live in Scotland free movement which of course would mean anyone with any sense in Scotland especially the young would fuck of to Europe and leave Scotland in a real no viable mess
It's easily gotten around: anyone who's "habitually resident" in Scotland enjoys free movement; anyone who isn't, doesn't. If a person moves abroad permanently, goes by their previous address.
This already occurs with the Isle of Man, whereby Manxmen and women have to be resident in the mainland UK or NI for a certain time in order to acquire free movement rights. Numbers are different, principle's transferable.
A sensible government would jump on the idea: but then, a sensible government would already have announced Britain's intention to remain in the EEA, so all bets currently off.
