Panic over the Unknown: America Hates Atheists

Contempt for out-­‐groups—those members of society that are identified as “not like me”—is as old as time. But for all the awareness of bias, hate crimes, and prejudice against minorities, some get overlooked. Atheists are the most mistrusted, reviled, and disliked minority in the United States, according to numerous studies.  Jews, African Americans, homosexuals, illegal immigrants, and even the much-­‐mistrusted Muslim communities are all held in higher regard by the average American than are Atheists.  The threat of spiritual alienation is more compelling than anything other than immediate injury.

It may be surprising that we Americans are more suspicious of atheists than we are of Muslims, but there you have it! Bias works in mysterious ways. Gad Saad’s blog post last year (Atheists Are the Most Mistrusted Group: They Are Evil and Immoral!) cast a bright light on a 2006 study published (but previously largely unnoticed) by researchers from the University of Minnesota.

In this article, we examine today’s surprisingly intense negative attitudes toward atheists, review what research tells us about “them” (atheists), and make recommendations for how you can use this information to improve your own litigation advocacy. Should you pay attention to potential triers-­‐of-­‐fact who espouse atheism? Let’s put it this way: Can you ever afford to ignore intense personal values held almost universally by your jury?

On October 18, 2004, Arthur Shelton, a self described Christian and Eagle Scout, murdered his friend and roommate, Larry Hooper, because Hooper didn't believe in God.

On December 18, 2005, after many months of postponements, Arthur Shelton, with his defense attorney, Seymour Swartz, appeared at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit, Michigan, before Judge Gregory D. Bill to face charges of murder in the first degree brought by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Christina Guiruis.

The trial began with the taped phone call Arthur Shelton placed to the Taylor police department in Taylor, Michigan, October 18, 2004, at precisely 12:44 AM. Shelton sounded calm and pridefull when he told the dispatcher he had just shot "the devil himself" with a revolver and a shotgun because "he (Hooper) didn't believe in God." Shelton told the dispatcher he was "still armed and ready to shoot again in case he moves. I want to make sure he's gone." When the dispatcher asked how many times he shot the victim Shelton replied, "hopefully enough."

Throughout the 15 minute phone call Shelton often repeated, "I'm a Christian and an Eagle Scout and I wouldn't lie," and "don't worry about me, I'm fine, but he's the devil." The dispatcher struggled to persuade Shelton to lay down his weapon and go outdoors with his arms raised. Shelton resisted, as he feared Hooper might not be "dead enough", but eventually complied.

Dead enough was an understatement. When the police arrived they were confronted with the grizzly scene of Hooper sitting upright on the couch with his head blown away and his brain laying on his hand. The autopsy report presented by the prosecutor was gruesome to be sure, but, for the record, Larry Hooper tested negative for all narcotics and alcohol.

Testimony by the arresting officer and the officers transporting Shelton to the police station revealed that while the officers were interested in gathering details about the incident, Shelton was obsessed with talking about God, the Eagle Scouts and stating he "would not talk to anyone who didn't believe in God but that he would talk to the police because he felt they believed in God."

The arrogance displayed by the evolutionist class is totally unwarrented [sic]. The facts warrent [sic] the violent expulsion of all evolutionists from civilized society. I am quite serious that their danger to society is so great that, in a sane society, they would be, at a minimum, denied a vote in the administration of the society, as well as any job where they might influence immature humans, e.g., scout, or youth, leader, teacher and, obviously, professor. Oh, by the way… What is the chance evolutionists will vote or teach in the Kingdom of God?

Clearly then, “evolutionists should not be allowed to roam free in the land.” All that remains for us to discuss is “What should be done with evolutionists?” For the purposes of this essay, I will ignore the minor issue of Western-style jurisprudence and merely mention possible solutions to the “evolutionism problem,” leaving the legal details to others:

* Labor camps. Their fellow believers were high on these. But, my position would be that most of them have lived their lives at, or near the public trough. So, after their own beliefs, their life should continue only as long as they can support themselves in the camps.

Since evolutionists are liars and most do not really believe evolution we could employ truth serum or water-boarding to obtain confessions of evolution rejection. But, this should, at most, result in parole, because, like Muslims,
evolutionist religion permits them to lie if there is any benefit to them.

"I have the right to tell people how to live their lives because I am of God."

Are Atheists Brain Damaged?
As Christians we have the Truth on our side. This enables us to embrace reality in its true form. To use an analogy, imagine staring at the sun without wearing shades. Within a few seconds you’d have incurred serious damage to your eyes! Now imagine you met someone who didn’t believe that the sun could hurt his eyes or that shades even existed. You’d surely think he was insane, would you not?

This is exactly the case with Atheists. They do not believe in the destructive power of Satan that permeates throughout this evil world, nor will they accept protection from the force of the evil in the form of Jesus Christ, who’s Holy Blood enables us to stare Evil in the eye without falling foul to its Will.

Similarly Atheists have been destroying their brains without using Christ as their protective layer. Pornography, violence, jealousy, lies and hatred have infiltrated their soul and have essentially gutted their brains, leaving them susceptible to believing in unproven theories such as Evolution.

Fortunately unlike real brain damage, this is reversible. By giving yourself to the Lord Jesus Christ today, you can restore what was once yours and banish Evil to the Pit for all eternity. You’d be simply insane not to accept this chance to be restored to purity and bliss in God.

Who Would Win In A Fight – A Militant Atheist or a True Believer In Jesus?

I can’t believe I’m even posting this, but I’m feeling filled with the spirit tonight so I thought I might as well educate you all out there.

It’s obvious that the Atheist would win the physical fight, simply because Christians are peaceful people, whereas Atheists are exactly that, militant. They won’t stop at anything to convince people that they are right and once they’ve done that they’d probably enslave the Christian and force Him to speak all sorts of unspeakable lies about the Creator, just for cheap laughs.

Even if we surrendered they’d still pummel us to death with anything that came to hand, whether it’d be sticks, hammers or mere gouging pencils.

However the tables will be turned after death and we will prevail with the spiritual battle. As I’ve said before, Atheists have sold their souls to Satan and have therefore forfeited their right to divine intervention.

The only support they’ll receive from God after death is a lovely postcard from Heaven, letting them know what a lovely time we are all having up here.

So Atheists, feel free to break my bones if you want to. You only want to because I’m right and you are wrong and that’s a bitter pill to swallow.

You do not have the intellectual impetus. You’re intellectually impotent. Intellectualism only exists in the context of the Holy Spirit and God. You are bestowed by neither whilst you continue to boke sick over His Word and spew lies and hatred against his people.

We will prevail. You will be consumed in fiery righteous Hail.

Atheism, obesity and self-esteem

There are preliminary studies indicating that individuals who reject Christianity in Western cultures have lower self-esteem than the Christian population.[209][210] In addition, obese individuals can have lower self-esteem related to their obesity.[211] In the United States, obese people are often stereotyped as being "lazy, lacking self-discipline and being mentally slow".[212] In March of 2011, USA News and World Report declared that an Arizona State University study suggests that fat stigma has gone global.[213] In addition, parts of the world that once viewed being overweight favorably now hold negative views concerning having extra pounds and also hold negative views concerning overweight individuals.[214] Poor self-esteem has been linked to an increase in suicide attempts and atheists have higher rates of suicide than the general population.[215][216][217]

Atheism, pederasty and NAMBLA

Some of the well known Atheist advocates of the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) are:

1. The atheist and homosexual David Thorstad was a founding member of the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA).[80]

2. Harry Hay (1912 - 2002) was an liberal advocate of statutory rape and the widely acknowledged founder and progenitor of the activist homosexual agenda in the United States. Hay joined the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA) in 1934. [81] Harry Hay was an atheist.[82] He was a vociferous advocate of man/boy love. [83][84] In 1986, Hay marched in a gay parade wearing a shirt emblazoned with the words "NAMBLA walks with me."[85]

3. The writer Samuel R. Delaney is an atheist and a homosexual.[86][87] Delaney said he was a supporter of NAMBLA.[88]

Atheism: An Intellectual Revolt or Pelvic Rebellion?

Atheists would love for everyone to believe that their motive for not believing is an intellectual one. Yes, the atheists ardently suppose that they are wise and the Christians, well, we’re the buckle-shoed buttheads.

Yes, darling, the atheists would love all of us to suppose that they cannot believe because they are so astute and rational, and we theists, heck we’re toads . . . a veritable troop of abecedarian simpletons who believe in God and Christ simply because we’re straight goofy.

I think the atheists believe in not believing, however, not because they’re intellectual little dandies but because they want to be autonomous, loose and randy.

As Dinesh D’Souza said about the atheist’s faith in no faith in his new book What’s So Great About Christianity: “Atheism is not primarily an intellectual revolt, it’s a moral one.” God, that’s got to hurt you guys because you pride yourself on being so wise . . . so sophisticated . . . and here he/we are saying that your atheism rises out of hedonism instead of intellectualism. Ouch. Need a bandaid?

Look, I’m not buying that the atheists’ altruistic self-professed pursuit of reason is what undergirds their conclusion that God does not exist; I believe it’s because they want to believe that they’ll never be called into eternal accountability for their temporal actions by a holy God. Talk about an opiate for the masses!

But to heck with what I think, eh? I’m just a hayseed, cross-eyed Christian with an IQ of 50 who believes in Jesus, loves his mama, salutes the flag and collects guns. I’m an idiot. Let’s go to the atheists and hear it from the horse’s mouth—or backside (411 taken from D’Souza’s book, What’s So Great About Christianity):

• Biologist Stephen Jay Gould: “We may yearn for a higher answer—but none exists. This explanation, though superficially troubling if not terrifying, is ultimately liberating and exhilarating.”

Biologist Julian Huxley, the grandson of Darwin’s buddy and ally Thomas Henry Huxley, put it this way: “The sense of spiritual relief which comes from rejecting the idea of God as a supernatural being is enormous.”

• Julian’s brother Aldous Huxley, not to be outdone by his bro, stated, “I had motives for not wanting the world to have meaning; consequently I assumed that it had none, and was able without any difficulty to find satisfying reasons for this assumption . . . For myself as no doubt for most of my contemporaries, the philosophy of meaninglessness was essentially an instrument of liberation . . . liberation from a certain system of morality. We objected to the morality because it interfered with our sexual freedom.”

Bertrand Russell: “The worst feature of the Christian religion is its attitude toward sex.”

• Christopher Hitchens: “The divorce between the sexual life and fear . . . can now at last be attempted on the sole condition that we banish all religions from the discourse.”

Sounds like these atheist apostles are simply putting a nuevo twist on an ancient bent. They appear to be humming the Marquis de Sade’s tune more than Sagan’s. Looks and sounds like a moral revolt to me. Yes, this is Epicurus all over again.

You remember Epi, don’t cha? His whole goal was to “get rid of the gods.” He and his other pre-Socratic “thinkers” like Lucretius and Democritus didn’t like all that duty and responsibility to higher powers and fellow mortals crap. It put a hitch in their get along. It brought them pain and they liked pleasure. They believed that such an obligation to men and the gods caused too much anxiety. They didn’t like the thought of being responsible and having to account for their lives in the afterlife. Such thoughts really screwed with getting their groove on, ya know what I’m sayin’?

They were the first metrosexuals. Yep, they figured that if they could just get the gods out of the way they could focus on selfishly milking this life for all it’s worth and then die without any eternal repercussions. They were living in a material world, and they were material girls. Pretty ballsy. Or stupid. But at least they were honest about their motivations.

In addition, ladies, Darwin didn’t lose his faith because he discovered natural selection; he dumped God because he couldn’t stomach the doctrine of eternal accountability and damnation. That’s what made him switch teams. I think that was about ten years after he had married his first cousin. Git-R-Done, Charlie!

Y’know, Karl Marx said religion is the “opiate of the masses.” I think the real poppy derivative is the black tar belief that tells you atheist lads and lasses that when you take the big dirt nap that’s it. Ah what peace. What a high. No God. No accountability. All our sins of commission and omission will never ever come up again. No pain. No penalty. No heaven. No hell. Imagine. Yeah, dude. Hold that hit. Let it out slowly. Ahhh. Feel better?

Federal Judge Prohibits Prayer at Texas Graduation Ceremony

Judge Biery’s ruling banned students and other speakers from using religious language in their speeches. Among the banned words or phrases are: “join in prayer,” “bow their heads,” “amen,” and “prayer.”
He also ordered the school district to remove the terms “invocation” and “benediction” from the graduation program.
“These terms shall be replaced with ‘opening remarks’ and ‘closing remarks,'” the judge’s order stated. His ruling also prohibits anyone from saying, “in [a deity’s name] we pray.”...

...Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott said the school district is in the process of appealing the ruling, and his office has agreed to file a brief in their support.
“Part of this goes to the very heart of the unraveling of moral values in this country,” Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott told Fox News Radio, saying the judge wanted to turn school administrators into “speech police.”...

The Texas attorney general called the ruling unconstitutional and a blatant attack from those who do not believe in God -- “attempts by atheists and agnostics to use courts to eliminate from the public landscape any and all references to God whatsoever.”
