Nebogipfel wrote:Interesting book review in the New Scientist of 28th January: That's Disgusting: Unravelling the mysteries of repulsion by Rachel Herz. This seems also to touch on the correlation (and it seems to be put no more strongly than that) between what is found repulsive in a particular culture, and what is found immoral. Herz proposes that this played a role in preventing the spread of diseases.
Interesting remark at the end:
Most alarming, though, is when our tendency toward disease avoidance is conflated with moral repugnance. Herz points out tha tduring the Holocaust and the Rwandan Tutsi massacre in 1994, the victims were cast as disease-ridden vermin. "The 'final solution' is frighteningly simple," Herz writes, "If you want to make a group despicable and justify murdering them, equate them with disease and disgust".
Something the poster formerly known as athiestsarevermin might want to ponder when he gets back from his holidays.

- ISTAA asks how does the atheist sustain a moral objection to K9 (a polite and simple euphemism.)
- Nebogipfel thanks ISSTA and J Hubner for acquainting him with internet slang boi/K9
- Atheists feign shock horror that Christians know about such words.
- Lion IRC reminds folk that atheists dont "own the internet" other groups put those memes OUT THERE a lot!
- A few thread comments insinuating that Christians secretly involve themselves in such things. Nudge nudge wink wink.
- Lion IRC rebuttal that atheists were spruking the Soul Force (In Your Face) website.
- What are you insinuating Lion IRC?
You missed out the bit where several people ask you several times to spell out what exactly your point was about the two women and the dog. Funny that.
EDIT: OK, I've just read page 12. The evasion and disingenuity are there for all to see.
No.
You see, you're just doing another lap on the same merry-go-round.
A) Whats your point?
B) What do you mean "point"?
A) You must be making a point.
B) What "point" is that?
A) Dont ask me to explain YOUR point.
B) You accused me of making a point
A) You are making a point! I know it for a fact!
B) How do you know its a "point" when you dont even know WHAT the point is?
A) If you wont admit you're making an insinuating, anti-gay, homophobic, hate-filled, POINT then I'll report you!
B) .......sigh!

My prediction is that the mods will cite State Secrets... or suggest that publicising their methods just gives sockpuppet creators more ideas at evading detection.

Must be more than that. All those things are easy to dodge.
