Neither religion nor atheism has anything to do with committing atrocities, plenty have been committed by both sides with no discernible pattern.
Spirituality is what you believe; religion is when you judge what others believe.

I agree, but in some cases how do you stop these arguments being made? It seems that sooner or later in any thread like this we get either "You're side are responsible for Stalin/Mao etc" or "You're side was responsible for the Crusades/Inquisistion etc". It really doesn't matter who uses which statement first it is a pity in someways that it is used, as after all it is humans being ghastly to other humans with or without religious intent. And it doesn't require the Christian God either just look at the Aztecs they took bloodletting in the name of religion took a new low.

About 10 years ago a silly older man used to walk around in front of a hospital with a cardboard plaque attached to his body front and back that read, "Jesus is comming." One day I simply felt I had enough of his nonsense. I walked up to him, pointed my finger in his face and said,
"Jesus already came and went, and you were too prejudice, too stupid, and too stubborn to pay attention. I shook his hand and it was electrifying. His name? Martin Luther King." And with that, I walked away. The next day, the silly old man was gone. I never saw him again.
I cannot tell a lie! I never shook Martin Luther Kings hand, but I shook Jesse Jackson's hand, and yes, it was electrifying. I figured Jesse Jackson must have shook MLK's hand many times, so it's almost the same thing...right? Wrong! It's not logical, but it works.

I'd have just asked him what 'comming' meant
Grace wrote:"I'd have just asked him what 'comming' meant"... I think that would be spelled differently.
"Remind me never to shake your hand, Grace, without insulated gloves." What? You don't want to be electrocuted? But it's so good for you. In small doses, it stimulates the immune system and stimulates the production of growth hormones.
