Canadian Catholic is apparently an "ex-atheist" who thinks that you can't get to a cockroach brain to a human brain via evolution. Why? An argument from incredulity, redefine god to uselessness, and fine-tuning basically.
The first time encountering him was when he was on the Atheist Experience. It's this episode:
Ep clip of CC:
Recently, he debated AronRa. I can't give much on this debated, other than CC stalks the r/ex-catholic and r/atheism subreddits. He also whines about the definitions of gods being "magical", even though that's an honest description. Even though he redefines god in a more pantheistic sense. (35:49) So he's not a Catholic, he's a pantheist or panentheist (some who thinks that God is transcendent, beyond space and time and eclipses the universe). He also very liberal in his interpretation of the bible, using excuses of allegory and "colorful language" to explain away faults in his god (the bible). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panentheism
To me, he sounds like the typical ex-atheist apologist.
never tried it, never ever drank Canadian whiskey in my career I'm afraid... is the bottle in the picture the basic form of that beverage or a special edition?

Agreed.
She battled through in every kind of tribulation, She revelled in adventure and imagination. She never listened to no hater, liar, Breaking boundaries and chasing fire. Oh, my my! Oh my, she flies!

I'm not a Canadian or a Catholic, and despite all his reasons being wrong, he's still basically right even for the wrong reasons. Evolution doesn't remotely suggest that if we took any extant animal and applied tailored forces that we'd be able to turn it, over billions of generations, into a human.
Rather, a human and a cockroach share a common ancestor, and thus both our ancestors had a particular brain from which, through contingent selection pressures and statistical shuffling of genes, both cockroaches and humans evolved.
I'm not an atheist; I just don't believe in gods :- that which I don't belong to isn't a group! Religion: Mass Stockholm Syndrome
If the atmosphere in Toronto is representative of the rest of Canada, I could not agree more, it's oppressive. Can't even compare with the Atmosphere in Montreal and Québec at large as I was too small a kid then to really notice.

I’m picturing the invasion now. Troops will rock up to the border and go ‘oh hey, hi, yah, we’re just invading now, k? We sure don’t wanna cause ya any inconvenience there, yeah, sorry aboat that...sorry...sorry...’ A polite, mildly spoken wave will spread inexorably across the globe - ‘hey, how are ya today? Yeah, sorry, just here ta take over, alrite? Oh sorry, I see you’re on the can there...sure yeah I’ll wait...sorry’. Etc.

I wonder if it's important for heaven to be fine-tuned for the support of angelic and celestial life...or if hell has been carefully fine-tuned for the support of damned life.
Or could God sustain sentience in those realms without having to crack open a physics textbook?
