Ravi Kumar Atheist: The Indian man fighting to be godless

An Indian man is fighting for the right to believe in the non-existence of God. But Ravi Kumar's quest for a document granting him legal recognition for his status has got him into trouble with the authorities.

Some of the language used by the writer of the article is poorly chosen and/or sarcastic in more than one way.
I'm not an atheist; I just don't believe in gods :- that which I don't belong to isn't a group!

I just don't get what that document is supposed to bring him, and what value it is supposed to have.

Even though this is not yet really enforced, the Indian Republic is supposed to be a lay state, with religion and castes not being recognized by the authorities and relegated to the private sphere.

Of course, fascist morons like modi and his bjp friends would like to roll back that part of the constitution and make the country a hindu theocracy... but that's another matter at all.
