i don't think infidels is a good word to describe yourself with if your going to a mosque, when i still was muslim and brought some western friends of mine to the national mosque to visit prayers the imam didn't like it at all and they were not allowed to go into the prayer room, only to tour the mosque,of course the woman had to borrow a scarf too.
in all religions there are always tolerant people so it is with atheism but they are just a part of the whole community.
and then there is the thing of what you are being told and what is hidden from you if your a non believer(not muslim).
i've just joined an indonesian atheist facebook group and it's just all coming back to me,comments like that atheists can't be called human beings because they insult god etc,of course in indonesian, are being handed out there as if there is no tomorrow.

i don't know how it is with christians but i think the rules are probably much more relaxed in church then they are in a mosque.

how about atheists for peaceful coexistence

Okay, I like that too. And unless somebody wants to chime in with special expertise on mosques, I'm a bit out of my depth, and would have to limit this to Christian churches, having some assurance that it will go smoothly, and no knowledge at all of what could happen at a mosque.

So, loosely speaking, Atheists seeking Peaceful Coexistence are attending church services June 24th, anti-christmas day, to meet Christians in their own element, to show themselves to be friendly and decent people; as a reminder that believers share this world with those who cannot bring themselves to accept scriptural authority, and that a secular society is the best safeguard against persecution of either the faithful or the faithless.

We are not an organization, not a charity, and will not be accepting donations.

Sound like a plan?

I certainly wouldn't advertise it (even amongst atheists) as 'anti-Christmas' day or you've spoiled the pitch before you've even started, I think.

Thanks, it has loads of connotations and should appeal to a wide audience, I can think of biblical (Levitics 26:12 and Thessalonians 3:11, contradictory of course), alien, vampiric, zombie, and even gamer connotations to that phrase. :smoke:
