Theism et al make a number of claims and assertions which I neither believe nor accept. That makes me an atheist. That's the only definition of atheism there is, as far as I can see. Why should I believe or accept the claims and assertions of Theism et al, and if I should, which ones, and why?

Oh please, bring it on. I've been waiting for some opposition for quite some time. Well, quality opposition, that is. All I seem to encounter from the supernaturalist camp, is the usual half-baked strawman caricatures of scientific theories, along with outright fabrications and lies. Got something better to bring here? Do it. Pistols at fucking dawn and all that.

I predict it will be more of the same old, tired shite, and Cali will carpet bomb himher into smoking rubble. There truly is nothing new under the sun, at least from a creotard perspective.

I thought about responding to this in some detail, but quickly realized that there was practically no content there to address. And you give an appearance akin to someone 'bravely' ringing a doorbell and running away, due to your profile indicating that you have not come back to even look in on the forum since you posted this.

Apparently you are a theist of some kind lucyloogeekusa :dunno: I wonder what you mean by this and why you believe whatever it is you believe.
And you think evolution has some relevance to this topic of "new atheists". What the accumulation of changes over time has to do with it have no idea, perhaps you actually meant to refer to biological evolution or some aspects or something or other about the theory of evolution. :dunno:

Nine days later, ho hum, no sign of Lucy. One-post wonder drive-by? Wouldn't surprise me in the least. If she does come back, she'll probably have nothing to offer I haven't already seen before and exposed as bullshit and lies.

Squid. Deep sea squid. Scary as fuck.

Generally deep dark water where I can't see the bottom. Also, if I can just about barely see the bottom, that's scary too. Strangely enough I like sailing and fishing a lot, but I generally avoid staring into the water.

This one time I was out fishing with my dad in a small boat and I had to pull up the anchor. We were fishing at a place that was about 40 m deep. So I was pulling up the anchor and I looked into the water and could see the chain extend into the "abyss" below us and I couldn't see the end of it. I simply couldn't take it and had to crawl back from the edge of the boat and pull up the anchor without looking at the chain or into the water. Ridiculous and deeply irrational. I always have this strange idea that a giant squid is going to come and take me and stare at me with it's giant evil, alien eye, before drowning and eating me.

For the longest time I couldn't watch nature tv programs about deep sea exploration without sitting panicky, looking at it out of edge of my eyes and having turned off the volume to no get startled by loud noises. The worst thing was those shows about sunken ships, like the exploration of the wreck of Titanic or the german battleship Bischmark.

Deep dark water and the giant hull and propeller of a big ship scare the bejeesus out of me. Also being right up close to a huge statue like Christ the redeemer or the angel of the north or something.

Nah. Not something that I really have to encounter in everyday life, plus I know how to get heads sorted pretty well.
