A paranormalist ad

#1  Postby Hugin » Nov 08, 2010 1:48 pm

Apparently a paranormal performer has been handing out his ads. Found the piece from the blog of the Swedish Humanist Association:

Image

The text says:
Mr Sofian
Soothsayer international marabout

Born with spiritual power. I'm famous around the world. I can solve all Your problems, for example love, health, family problems, business, legal issues, financial transactions, weight loss. You will learn how to protect yourself and your family from the enemy and how you get your loved ones back into your life. Guaranteed result.
Speaks French, English.

Call and reserve a meeting!

Apparently a "marabout" is a kind of Islamic soothsayer common in Western Africa. They combine West African superstition with the Islamic dito.

But oh well, is this a guy you'd trust when it comes to financial transactions? How is that "guarantee" going to work anyways?

Cool. I collect these kind of ads. My fave at the moment is this very odd individual I was lucky enough to meet:

I live in South London so I get a whole load of cards from witch doctors and other woo merchants. I also get flyers about Power Chruch International Ministries, hosted by this awesome fellow:

"famous around the world" Last thing I heard, Australia is part of the world, yet strangely, never heard of him.

Anyone stupid enough to give this guy one cent deserves everything they get. :smug:
If you have to go overseas to get 1000 Christians to believe your story, it's probably a fib. (my avatar)
