A house on Hollyhill?

As a former resident of Cork I can tell you that its more likely to be some kids out the back smoking joints and fucking with them. It's one of the more run down areas of the city, with a high level of mischievous youths.

Either that or they're getting some really good weed for themselves.

I used to live quite close to that area a few years back. There is a spooky old jail there (Cork City Gaol) that dates back a couple of hundred years, the Brits used to lock people up for stealing bread and such during the famine (either that or off to Oz). There's also a really weird old Gothic building called Atkin's Hall (formerly Our Lady's Psychiatric Hospital), where all sorts of fucked up mental health practices have gone down over the last couple hundred years. Now half of it is renovated into a student accommodation complex and the other half is still abandoned with "living quarters" containing gurneys with shackles and stuff everywhere. So there's lots of ghosts around that could be walking a couple of hundred meters up the hill for a good time. ;)

Ah, now I thought Cork Gaol tried to cash in a few years back with ghost tours, but maybe that was somewhere else. I don't think the unquiet dead have much to do with this one, but all efforts to follow it up by email to various individuals concerned have resulted in no reply. That could be data protections issues, or it could be that talking about spooks is political suicide for elected officials? :) It certainly all sounds rather fun though...
