I believe it was Sylvie Browne that said that a young girl had died to her family on TV, only for many years later for the young girl to have been found well and truly alive, she had been kidnapped but not murdered. Oh and I am sure Browne is also the one that promised Randy that she would win his million dollars on TV and Randy is still bringing up the fact that she has never contacted him again.

Yes, both her, and unless she contacts him through a psychic medium she is not likely to contact him now.

How many times must I be told to read to the end of a thread before posting?! :waah:

I believe in channeling mediums. They should be thrown into the English Channel.

Checking the wiki some more Browne predicted she would die at the age of 88, so she even got that wrong.

While I can accept Browne might have used cognitive dissonance to shield herself from her mistakes and following the adage "Don't ascribe to malice what could be better ascribed to stupidity" it seems is is the more likely option, I still feel it is very possible she was just such a raging immoral pile of shit that she knew she was wrong, knew she was hurting people and gave zero cares about it as long as she made money.

This woman somethimes is very good. There are episodes, when she can tell the lost one's name, and other details without asking or playing anagramma. I think tha this is more than cold reading. Maybe is scripted, or she is getting infos from somebody... I dont know what to think about her..

 The second thing out of her mouth in the video I'm watching is a question - "You lost a daughter. Correct?" It looks like she's making a straightforward statement but what she's actually doing is checking her guess and then if it's wrong she can change it to "someone who was like a daughter to you" or "well it must be another female relative you've lost".

The next thing we see her say is also a question - "do you have grandchildren?" When they say yes, she then makes up this scenario where God has granted permission for the soul of the dead daughter to enter into one of her grandchildren. If she knew this already, why did she need to ask the woman if she had grandchildren?

Straight after that, another question - "and how do you connect with the number 8?" This could of course men any number of things, but the woman provides the medium with information herself - her daughter was born in August. Note how the medium immediately claims this as a hit, confirming that the daughter was born in August. Again, if she knew this, why did she not just say it? Another question - "and how old is she?" Here she learns that the daughter is going to be 8. So she's 7. But she latches onto this and makes sure the sitters remember that she brought up the number 8. She now has a viable child upon whom to unload her fabrication of the daughter's soul residing in the granddaughter.

All of this happens within the first 2 minutes of the video - I gave up after that because I was having to pause it so often. The woman has first extracted information by asking questions of the subject and then used their responses to tailor her "messages". All utterly transparent.

On top of that she's giving a reading for someone she's actually visiting in their home - it's pretty much inconceivable that she hasn't had a research team digging up anything they can find on the subject before recording. If that's the case you're right, it is more than cold reading - it's a combination of cold reading and hot reading. I'm struggling to understand what you find so compelling about her.

Classic cold reading - the hallmark of scammers, fakes, frauds and liars everywhere. That she augments her guesses with material she and her crew can see only makes her less believable, not more.

Can a nerdy medium with strong thighs set herself on fire with just the power of her mind?

If so - where do they sell tickets?

Are you prophesying a burning bush?
The problem with fantasies is you can't really insist that everyone else believes in yours, the other problem with fantasies is that most believers of fantasies eventually get around to doing exactly that.

If a nerdy medium with strong thighs set herself on fire and then clamped her burning bush around a strong guys face would he need a snorkel?

Never eat at a place called Mom's, never play cards with a man named Doc and never sleep with anyone more screwed up then you are.

Oh, and never, ever go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line.
