Psychic predictions on $330M lottery

#1  Postby DoctorE » Jan 05, 2011 9:39 am

More scam madness :)

New Yorkers are psyched about tonight's massive Mega Millions lottery -- but not more than the city's psychics.

Astrologers, stargazers and other prognosticators all got into the spirit yesterday -- hunting for portents pointing to the winner of the $330 million jackpot, the third-biggest haul since New York joined the 40-state game in 2002.

Chris Ochun, 34, a Bronx spiritualist, predicts that a woman from New York will win -- but that she'll have to split the jackpot with "someone from out of state."

How does he know? The seashells told him so. He reads African cowry shells and chants incantations.

The shells, formerly the homes of snails, unfortunately didn't disclose the numbers, but he says 5, 6, 52, 55, 44 and 27 are "lucky."

And he's certain the winner will be a Gemini.

Susan Miller, who founded astrologyzone.com, has a good reason to believe someone will cash in tonight.

"Somebody will win because we have a partial eclipse of the sun in Capricorn, which rules big money," she said.

She added that a winner would likely emerge because "an eclipse has incredible power -- it's like three new moons rolled into one."

Miller said whoever picks the right numbers was probably born under the sign of Sagittarius or Gemini. But she agreed with Ochun, saying, "Gemini has an edge."

One wonders if it is evidence of the multiverse (level III) that they don't all agree on the winner's details... :shifty:

So, the Bronx spiritualist predicted a shared win, with a female winner from New York, with lucky numbers of 5, 6, 52, 55, 44 and 27.

Another psychic predicted that somebody will probably win, not because big prizes attract big publicity and large ticket sales, but because of a partial eclipse.

Reality:
Prize is split between two people, neither from New York.
None of the Bronx guy's numbers came up.
I don't do sarcasm smileys, but someone as bright as you has probably figured that out already.

So the Bronx guy is a fraud but that doesn't prove there aren't real phsychics :levi:

Just as the fact that there are fake Santas aplenty at Xmas time doesn't prove there isn't a real one living on Korvatunturi :shifty:

Well, history would at least seem to suggest that if there *are* any real psychics, the media and the public at large can't actually tell them apart from the knowing frauds or the self-deluded.

Funny, if they were really psychic you'd expect they wouldn't have to look very far to find the winner - they'd be the ones claiming the prize.
Power doesn't corrupt, it reveals. Only when someone is free from constraints and consequences do they show their true character.
