Things go wrong for psychic Sally

One aspect of the show is that audience members can submit photographs of dead loved ones, in the hope that Sally will select theirs, and give a psychic reading from it.

but

It turns out the woman in the audience got the whole concept of submitting a picture of someone you wanted to talk to from the afterlife completely wrong – and for some unknown reason submitted a younger picture of herself.

comedy ensued :D

That woman has shot herself in the foot so many times she no longer has feet to shoot herself in.
She battled through in every kind of tribulation,
She revelled in adventure and imagination.
She never listened to no hater, liar,
Breaking boundaries and chasing fire.
Oh, my my! Oh my, she flies!

Nearly. She's dying from the feet up apparently

She's not dead, but there's a lot less of her than there used to be.
She battled through in every kind of tribulation,
She revelled in adventure and imagination.

Breaking boundaries and chasing fire.

Upon doing my research, I bumped into the programme "Psychic Sally's Big Fat Operation". I love British television programming.

I swear, we're not even allowed to say "fat" in Canada. We say "big" (it's ambiguous) or "curvy" (it could be complimentary) or "obese" if we HAVE to be clinical but unless we wish to offend we don't say "fat". We're too prudish and polite to go that route.

And don't get me started on "use the toilet". That's almost dirty! Can't you just say "washroom" and let the rest of us pretend we don't know what you're doing in there?

In contrast, my first language is German and, to my knowledge, there is no sanitised wordage in that language (or my Oma is just very cruel. She calls me fat ALL THE TIME. Not "big" or "curvy" or "obese". Fat. Fatty fat fat.)

To be fair, it's a play on such programmes as Big Fat Gypsy Weddings which isn't about fat people but the massive weddings the Romany and travelling communities in the UK put together. But yeah, it is about her being fat and then having an operation.

We actually have our own My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding which isn't about travelling communities at all, just white trash.

Yar, a spin-off of the original. Interesting it's now about what they call white trash though.

Pardon me, we are to believe the individuals featured on the show are American Roma. In North America there is no historical prejudice against them though and they don't face bigotry or discrimination because North Americans are largely ignorant of prejudices about Romani held by Europeans. They're not at all isolated from mainstream society and don't travel.

I've watched a few episodes and, sadly, it's just a circus. It plays up on stereotypes of these women being uneducated, marrying very young and having garish weddings, making lots of babies, being gossipy, very superficial, excessive drinking, a tendency to engage in fist-fights and lots of taffeta and sparkles.

Yep. Word of warning - there's another thread here somewhere about her, which had to be locked and removed from view because her legal team contacted the site.

Yes...

That thread passed on to the other side......

Can't see anything libellous in this thread. Also, I note that the web is still full of her previous failures.
