Sooo... Anyone see any motherships yet? I'm not but then I'm pretty certain Turku won't merit one, being a not-so-big city and all...

Nothing from the EL from Sirius here in Athens. There are clouds of course, but I think that aliens can circumvent a few clouds...

That would explain it all, but I do think that the recently elected Major of Twatsville did promise they would be sighted: he predicted "a massive UFO display over the world’s principal cities". Possibly the aliens have a bit different idea about the term "principal" or "display" than us puny humans, of course.

So, that's what all the clouds in Athens are in reality! The aliens' cloaking devices...

Latest update. They arrived, took one look, thought "what a craphole!", and have left vowing never to return.

Or perhaps their idea of "massive" is different to ours.

I'm thinking of Douglas Adams' description of alien visitors:
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy wrote: It is of course well known that careless talk costs lives, but the full scale of the problem is not always appreciated. For instance, at the very moment that Arthur Dent said "I wouldn't want to go anywhere without my wonderful towel," a freak wormhole opened up in the fabric of the space-time continuum and carried his words far far back in time across almost infinite reaches of space to a distant Galaxy where strange and warlike beings were poised on the brink of frightful interstellar battle. The two opposing leaders, resplendent in their black jewelled battle shorts, were meeting for the last time, when, a dreadful silence fell, and, at that very moment, the words, "I wouldn't want to go anywhere without my wonderful towel" drifted across the conference table. Unfortunately, in their native tongue, this was the most appalling insult imaginable, so the two opposing battle fleets decided to settle their few remaining differences in order to launch a joint attack on our galaxy, now positively identified as the source of the offending remark. For thousands of years the mighty starships tore across the empty wastes of space and finally dived screaming on to the planet Earth - where, due to a terrible miscalculation of scale, the entire battle fleet was accidentally swallowed by a small dog. Those who study the complex interplay of cause and effect in the history of the Universe say that this sort of thing is going on all the time.

Right, why does it look like a kite of some sort? You know there are several types of kites. Maybe someone did this on purpose?

It's camouflaged?!?

You know there are several types of kites.
Yep, and I could never make a single one fly properly when I was a kid.

Maybe someone did this on purpose?
Only a nasty skeptic would think so :naughty:

Anyway, I guess we'd better wait for some USAnian comments on if they really did shut off NYC airports because of this as some proponents are reporting. If they did, it may not have been a kite. Rather small for a mothership tho.

Oh, and some are reporting sightings in freakin' Chelsea by the way of evidence for this. Now I'm pissed at the little green bastards for not showing up in Turku :nono:

I doubt that theory, they'd be still looking at LOLcats and going "what the fuck is THAT?"
