Whispering Angels

#1  Postby LaCasaGrande » Nov 08, 2011 4:59 am

In this case, my angels are telling me that there is a man that has been making money on child pornography for 20yrs - 26yrs, he is well known in politics or church or both. My angels will bring this man into the open so he can be caught and put on trial, they will try to do this between now and 30 days.

In this case, I would recommend Thorazine, Prolixin or Trilafon.

I get audible hallucinations if I am sleep deprived. Usually starts late on 2nd day of no sleep. I remember having to code a set of scripts on a server for a product demo that was to take place and found a few problems and quickly started to recode the scripts. 36 hours later I was on a roll, nose bleeds from excessive coffee, had the munchies as I was in a server room and was working in air-con temperatures. Fricking bursts of voice seemed to pop out now and then though absolutely useless in helping me code. Demo worked fine. Software was still going 5 years later. Perl rocks yeah.

Anyway, not angels but chemical imbalance in your brain. That is chemical-you talking to conscious-you. It's like low-level kernel stuff firing bits around your brain.

Exactly. I've suffered from chronic sleep disturbance for years, and two or three days without sleep, the voices start. And the visual & olfactory hallucinations too. If you're getting this sort of thing without good cause, go & see your doctor.

Angels ... <shakes head sadly>

Have the angels in question been summoned by...Angel Summoner?

In college, right at the start of my course, one of the young girls said she believes in angels, I snorted out loud

Where the fuck are all these people coming from? It's like an absolute deluge of bollocks we're getting lately. There's only so many of these threads we can turn into piss-take jollies for the rest of us

Now it's just plain fucking dull :(

Given that this forum is called "Rational Skepticism", not, say, "Hare-brained Gullibility", what did you think the answer would be? :ask:

As long as people don't act on such hallucinations, and start lobbing vile and absurd allegations around (the Salem and Pendle Witch Trials spring to mind), I don't give a fuck what they believe but there is no reason whatsoever why we should give credence to somebody else's auditory hallucinations.

It's a curiously long and detailed message for an auditory hallucination though, isn't it? Or is that the way they usually work?

In this case, my angels are telling me that there is a man that has been making money on child pornography for 20yrs - 26yrs, he is well known in politics or church or both. My angels will bring this man into the open so he can be caught and put on trial, they will try to do this between now and 30 days.

Oh it's more than one angel.

Ok, so there's this group of angels who know about a man who's been making money on child pornography for either 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 or 26 years. Not 19 years. And not 27 years.

Then this group of angels also know that he's either i) involved in the church, or ii) involved in politics, or iii) involved in church and politics. But they don't know which one.

And although they want to bring it into the open, they've chosen to whisper in the ear of someone who will not be believed.

A very curious story, and not one which credits angels with much intelligence, no matter how well-intentioned their actions are.

It would have been a lot more credible if written in code in a crop circle, what are they, losing their touch?
The problem with fantasies is you can't really insist that everyone else believes in yours, the other problem with fantasies is that most believers of fantasies eventually get around to doing exactly that.

As I said the other day, this forum needs an enema.

There's a simple definition... If you talk to God, you are religious. If God talks to you, you are crazy.
