Ayep. It's a bird. And it's nowhere near the plane. When it looks as though it's stationary, it's because it's either gliding more or less straight toward or away from you. I see that sort of thing from the patio in the garden every other week.

IFB: Identified Flying Bird.

There is one argument that tends to get overlooked when talking about UFO sightings, and that is why a certain group of people don't dominate the reports. I'm talking about amateur astronomers, who spend more time watching the skies at night than any other group. But then they are also adept at identifying planets, satellites, planes and the other stuff that less experienced skywatchers interpret as UFOs.

Yeah, but... yeah, but... so can scout saucers of the Imperial Xargonian invasion fleet. So there!!

No, no, it's still unidentified: we don't know which individual seagull it was. So there.

Ding, ding, ding.

I have shot such rounds more than I can count, and can confirm this is absolutely correct. The way they fall to the ground, burning out low down then being replaced with another higher round, means it is a process called "Continuous Illumination".

Looks like 155mm to me at a rough guess, based on the fall rate and the time between rounds.

Fort Carson, CO, is near Colorado Springs, and has multiple units of M109A6 155mm SP howitzers.

EDIT - though they could be 120mm. Only one round was observed completely from ignition to burnout, with a time of around 1:30 - that's a little short for 155mm (standard 2 minute burn time).

Either way, it's pretty clearly a large chunk of WP under a parachute, being fired to provide battlefield illumination using a method doctrinally termed Continuous Illumination".

Staged. Notice how the camera starts zoomed up where the object (" a very big penis" as the person on the sound track says ) would come out and then pulls back and pans right and then the object appears from where the camera started. The cameraman expected something to come out of there (ok or they just like dicks). It was an Expected Flying Object. The object seems to be leading edge angled up like it was not powered but launched like a skeet. Why is it that only morons ever have cameras pointed at "UFOs". With only that much footage drag hasn't slowed it enough - continue tracking the object and if it keeps going over the horizon then that is powered flight. Oh no our penis-envy camera man stops filming before we can see the arc.

Nah. The guy holding the camera was actually filming the penis-shaped rock. He wasn't expecting anything.

Aliens, clearly.
She battled through in every kind of tribulation,
She revelled in adventure and imagination.

No he was expecting something and deliberately failed to track the object through to the right where we would have seen how it dropped under gravity.
