Yeah it is. The moment you chose to type about it on here, you invited comment and you have fuck all influence over the free flow of opinions regarding what you freely chose to divulge.

We all dont have to live by the yummy mummy norms.

This 'yummy mummy' bullshit is of the same ilk as your 'little Englanders' bullshit. This is not some black and white world where you either act like a Victorian tyrant or you allow little Tristram to demolish a restaurant without consequences. Planning to have children and then having children when you don't even want them is despicable. That's my opinion. I'm truly disgusted.

Being a good parents =/= being a yummy mummy.

Citing an example of flawed parenting does not automatically make your parenting good by default or necessarily even by comparison. Indeed it only serves to demonstrate that you do not actually understand what being a good parent is.

That you think anyone disagreeing with your view must be a "yummy mummy" only serves to demonstrate your ignorance on this topic. Basically all you have by way of response is insult. Once again.

I have exactly as much of a clue as information you've freely given. You had two children despite not wanting them, and think that because you think you gave them 'sufficient' attention, a good education and your daughter lives somewhere expensive, that doesn't matter. This to me is disgusting.

I find it totally disgusting seeing the spoilt brats of the yummy mummies.

Yes, I already called you on this pure crap. The alleged disgusting behaviour of everyone else you label 'yummy mummy' because they don't share your idiotic views on children doesn't make your disgusting behaviour less disgusting.

The mind boggles.

Yeah, as I said, this is the 'little Englander' crap all over again. There's Scot's way and then there's the wrong way. Not everyone who lives in England is a Little Englander. Not everyone who had children because they wanted them is a 'yummy mummy'. But you know this. You're now just trying any old desperate thing to try and get the heat off.

Prove I, or anyone else who takes exception to the Victorian Tyrant School of Parenting method, is a 'yummy mummy'.

Yes my mind boggles as well at the hypocritical nonsense people cram out about anyone who thinks differently than their little tiny world. Who in the fucking hell do you think you are?

No, I'm not deciding the norm, I'm offering my views on what I consider to be good or bad.

You however, have just decided to applying a sweeping insult of "yummy mummy" to everyone who disagrees with you, despite the fact that NO ONE here is advocating that parenting style as "good." You're creating a false equivalency and that makes for illogical argument.

No one here considers the "yummy mummy" method the "Victorian parent" method, to be examples of good parenting. They are both shit.

Who are you to judge what is good parenting? Have you met my children well meeting my son would be impossible? I was not the one who brought up the victorian method as the only alternative to the Yummy Mummy method. It was typical Fallible.

Do you think we're stupid? You try this bullshit every time. Even if it wasn't immediately transparent the first time you did it, there can't be a single person left on this forum who hasn't seen you throw out an insult and then immediately try to make out it was you who was insulted.

I mean really?? You're really trying this? 'Children should be seen and not heard' is a well-known saying equated with old fashioned, austere and strict ideas of 'parenting'. Seeing as you used this idiom in your first post, it's not really that hard to deduce that that's the outlook you subscribe to.

Don't think you can just ignore what I asked you to do. You're always banging on about people providing evidence to back up their claims. Prove that we who are disagreeing with you are yummy mummies. Come on, let's see the evidence you're always demanding of other people.

Re: Antinatalism

#819  Postby Andrew4Handel » Jan 11, 2016 1:22 pm

Strangely I am not feeling to depressed to day for the first time in a while so I feel less morose about the issue.

I want/wanted to discuss the issue in a theoretical way. That is to say what are the ramifications and responsibilities of having children. I don't think the issue is simply about how such suffering their is.

One of the man issues for me is that people can't choose to be born so that being born is like (if not entirely the case) being forced into existence without consent. That is not an emotive point but a technical point

In general we don't force ourselves on other people (except maybe to constrain them) it is seen as an infringement on their autonomy.

Someone who really enjoys life isn't going to feel infringed on but someone suffering can (legitimately in my opinion) feel imposed on.

It is not like an unwanted Christmas gift that you can take back to the shop or store in the attic.

If the process of creating a life leads to this scenario of a burden of life then I don't see why a majority of peoples alleged contentment should make this a non issue. I think I mentioned elsewhere that a few people got food poisoning from Cadbury's chocolate so a large amount of stock was destroyed at great expense. They weren't allowed to argue that only two out of our million customers got salmonella and the rest experienced great pleasure.

Of course it would be ideal if we could unproblematically have happy children.

At the very least regardless of antinatalism I think we should scrutinise peoples reasons and suitability for having children. A couple of Heroin addicts in my town had 8 children between them all of which were immediately taken into care.

Your opinion of me is irrelevant. You asked me who I am to judge you and I told you. You have this bizarre idea that opinions are one-way concepts which leads you to get all bent out of shape when someone other than you offers one. I suggest you suck it up. Or stop freely giving out disturbing information about your toilet habits, criminal offences and child-rearing views.
