How about this. You would not have written that challenge were it not for the post it was a reply to, would you?

ETA: Or, if you prefer, tell Graham why you 'chose' to set up the lunch date.
??? What the fuck?

And you wouldn't have posted that dodge either, but for my post.

Keep going.

You will only post what it occurs to you post, and why will that occur to you? "Free will"? Causal history? Something you hear on the radio? An aroma on the street that reminds you of your childhood and a story your grandma used to tell you? How far can you get in tracing "reasons" for it? And if you could trace every reason where would be the free will? Isn't that just the cover for inevitable gaps in any account of why we think what we do?

Why did you decide on that lunch date?
Why do you think that?

All you are continuing to demonstrate, at this point, is that my posts are determining factors for yours. So far, I'm good with that. Now, write something that isn't determined by this post of mine. Go on. Be a good chap.

Unlike lunch dates, which you have to attend. And if you wimp out, free will.

Oh, well done!

Determinism is deeply connected with our understanding of the physical sciences and their explanatory ambitions, on the one hand, and with our views about human free action on the other. In both of these general areas there is no agreement over whether determinism is true (or even whether it can be known true or false), and what the import for human agency would be in either case.
Why do you think that?

I hope that's not an attempt to demonstrate free will in response to my or anyone else's similar post, because all it may show is that my/our posts challenged you to try to post something completely unrelated, which you would not have done if you had not been challenged to do that beforehand.

As such, your demonstration of free will does not appear to be going very well, so far, does it?

Why are you suddenly posting a series of songs in the thread? Have you done that before, in the last 7 years? Can you link me to that?

Yet another post that you would not have written were it not for the one before. It's not going very well so far, is it?

Keep trying, little puppet.

Nope, but it's certainly not establishing that there is free will.

When I said try again, I hoped for something more than continuing to post stuff that you wouldn't have if I hadn't come along here today and challenged you.

Try something else maybe.
