I don't think that the immediate content of my present state of consciousness constitutes an act of introspection. Suppose I say that "I see a cloud". My consciousness of seeing a cloud preceded my assertion hence my assertion is redundant since I am giving voice to an event that is happening even as I say it. That is why I regard such an assertion as self-evident.
