Room Temperature Superconductors ...

#1  Postby Calilasseia » Oct 16, 2020 5:48 pm

Breaking news: paper in Nature covering a candidate room temperature superconductor ... not an especially practical one, given the conditions it needs to operate, but this is the first time superconductivity has been reported for a substance at 15°C.

If I've got my powers of ten right, 270 gigapascals is a pressure of 2.7 million atmospheres

Cold Fusion for the new generation. Sure its viable until you read the small print. They'll take the money to invest in the miracle technology, yesterday. That much is certain.

Does such a place exist? Pressures like that, sure. But, at room temperature?
