Olympic torch handed over to Brazilians
With 100 days to go before the Olympic Games begin in Rio de Janeiro, the Olympic flame has been handed over in Athens to the Brazilian authorities.
The torch will arrive in Brazil next week and then will travel around the country ahead of the games in August.

Mutilated body washes up at Rio beach volleyball venue

A mutilated body has washed up on the same Rio beach where Olympic beach volleyball athletes will compete.

The circumstances surrounding the body are not known, but its existence on Copacabana Beach was confirmed by a policeman at the scene, Reuters reports.

A photo taken at the scene shows a black plastic bag reportedly containing a human foot, as the Olympic venue – which is still under construction – looms in the background.
