Jean-Baptiste "Toots" Thielemans
(29 April 1922 – 22 August 2016)

From The Guardian:

The Belgian jazz musician Toots Thielemans has died aged 94 after a long career in which he was known as one of the world’s best harmonica players.

Born in 1922 in the working class Marolles district of Brussels, Thielemans got his big break when he joined the American swing musician Benny Goodman on a European tour in 1950 before moving to the US, where he teamed up with artists such as Charlie Parker, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra.

The record producer Quincy Jones, known for his work with Michael Jackson, was quoted as saying on Thielemans’ website: “I can say without hesitation that Toots is one of the greatest musicians of our time.”

In the Netherlands also know for, although perhaps not always by name, for this:
"Respect for personal beliefs = "I am going to tell you all what I think of YOU, but don't dare retort and tell what you think of ME because...it's my personal belief". Hmm. A bully's charter and no mistake."

Yes, and everyone will know this one:

The Dutch, at least those above a certain age, also know him from this skit (skip to 7:00):

2016 has been a very greedy year so far.
The Bible is full of interest. It has noble poetry in it; and some clever fables; and some blood-drenched history; and some good morals; and a wealth of obscenity; and upwards of a thousand lies.
