I have mentioned in another thread the existence of this form of 'treatment'. So to fill you all in here is a short resume.
Dr Syd Bush a Hull based UK Optometrist has 'discovered' that large doses of Vitamin C will reverse the effects of atherosclerosis.
A link to his wesite is here: http://www.cardioretinometry.com/
One of his 'proofs' is that a comparison of retinal photographs of before and after starting treatment with these megadoses is that changes can be seen in the retinal arteries, in that they improve in diameter and allow better blood flow. Now as you can imagine i am very used to assessing retinal photographs and also looking at real life retinas, and I can see no difference. Nor can quite a few of my collegues who have viewed his photographs.
However in some of his 'rants' and I use this term specifically because I and my collegues who subscribed to a professional only email system gets posts from him about his ideas which for the use of colour make a poster on this forum look subduded. He is now into a conspiracy in that the NHS, big Pharma, and Doctors do not want him to publise his efforts at will reduce either their profits or peoples dependancy on their expertise, because heart disease prevention will be taken over by optometrists and cheap Vitamin C

I don't know what else to say.
