How did George Lucas come up with the idea of the Death Star, and Jedi and lightsabers? How did JK Rowling come up with the idea of Hogwarts? How did JRR Tolkein come up with the idea of the One Ring?

not the same.

how else did hindus end up with ideas similar to those of theory of relativity, like story of muchukunda https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muchukunda

http://mossdreams.blogspot.in/2011/08/u ... stone.html

how else did they come up with speed of light within about 10% accuracy? how , i ask, how?

http://www.hinduhistory.info/speed-of-l ... ar-sayana/

how how how how how? , clearly they knew less, some of it must have been garbled, historical oral tradition destroyed much information until only the imagination survived.

Is it true, bullshit!. kud it b tru, one can always wonder.

Here's how:

agreed, early indians & hellenics did have access them. Many ideas of philosophy probably began from that as well. Ok, now this explains 99.99% entirely. A thumbs up to u too.

Evidently, not even most humans, unless there's a dollar to be made. And of those who do care otherwise? And of those even remotely worth listening to? Fuck most of them too, since they have a selfish agenda to fulfil. A truth mill to oil. Yeah, there's lots of cunts on this planet, but it's not their fault. Blame culture/nurture for your cuntishness. I do.

simple ,such an entity doesnt exist. hellenics & indians came to value the ontological principles as primary. Not god. discovery of these ontological principles was valued. hence buddhism, jainism, it has deities but no absolute god. the trick that xtianity & islam did is that by using their organizational prowess they beat these polytheistic religions & took their ideas & dressed themselves up. So now its laws of God. give me a break. The hellenics ,babylonians,Indians were beginning to figure things out. most of science as we know it begins with these nature conscious societies .

God is a ridiculous proposition.

Knowing our luck the aliens would land in their magnificent starships, step forth to meet an awe-struck humanity, and say "We're just stopping by briefly, we hope we haven't caught you at an inconvenient moment. Could we have a moment of your time to talk to you about the love of our god, Splidnortch?"

So what, are you saying that people can only come up with ideas if they're paid to, so if someone isn't paid, their ideas can't come from them?

Ugh... those Splidnortch Witnesses are the worst! It was like they'd never actually seen the surface of another planet before. We should've just put all the satellites into sleep mode and pretended the planet was no longer inhabited, hoping that they'd just move on to the next star system.

I'd suggest converting to Splidnortchism immediately, to save your hides. Just to give The Ghost of Mr. Woodchuckles time to ready his armies of small woodlamnd critters to gnaw holes in the baseboards of their starships, and squirrel away all of their nom-noms. :shifty:

More to the point, how would aliens react if, in their first encounter with humans, they encountered the drivelling idiocy that is religion?
The existence of just one racist is proof that there exists at least one person who could be reasonably classified as sub-human.

My wonder EXACTLY. I think they'd just move on to the next star system in search of intelligent life OR they'd eat us, I imagine

There is little in this life that cannot be illuminated by either The Big Lebowski or Jerry Seinfeld.

Or maybe you and I are simple. But I'm OK with that.

I'm an irreligious theist. I'd gladly embrace all 'aliens'.

That would be cool. Chimps would be a little alarming.

Yeah... she doesn't know you though. Even if she did, I really doubt her standards would be that low.
