That's nice. Yet politicians remain unimpressed. I wonder why that is.

And of course there's people from ministers to pensioners, complaining that they should've been on strike on their own time/ in the weekends. :picard:

Some people seem insistent that calling people names is just not justified; like we're supposed to rise above it all and engage from the realm of cool rationality.

Fuck that. Some people are just total fucknuggets, and should be reminded of it at every opportunity.

Yep, the idiots in the Treasury are going to get millions of people killed. Hundreds are already dying as a result of climate change caused by the fossil fuels they are subsidising. Someone should do something to make that headline news.

The problem is not just Treasury, minininja. For every noble protester who wants us to take notice of these dire threats, and just who's to blame for them, there are multitudes who just catch the latest news and turn the page.

Utterly without denying the threat, for every Chicken Little who shouts (rightly or wrongly) that the sky is falling, there are scores who bring their cameras along to grab their selfies with the sky falling in the background. Those are the folks who are going to get millions of people killed, your ordinary fellow ground apes.

Can't we call attention to a problem without nailing somebody for the crime? The stated tactics of XR include getting yourself arrested for civil disobedience, and not merely wagging that accusing finger. There are people nominally in charge, and it falls to them to mete out punishment. Even if only the rich survive a climate catastrophe, someone is still going to be at the bottom of the heap to do the dishes.
