I think the best example of this is also the simplest. Clean energy sources used to produce electricity, the electricity used in electrolysis to separate hydrogen and oxygen from water, the hydrogen stored as a fuel to be burnt later producing water, zero pollution.

Only problems are the efficiency losses, and the storage and transport of liquid hydrogen tanks under pressure.

It is a potential solution though, for future high energy to weight ratio engine requirements.
