Hottest: Around 105 F in Joshua Tree National Monument in California.
I used to live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and remember several days when the temp went below -40 (at that point Fahrenheit and Celsius are the same).
Strangely, as both were in very dry climates, neither felt as extreme subjectively as the numbers would suggest.
