One thing that has to be mentioned is the IPCC with its reports. The come with executive summaries aimed at non-scientists who have to work with them and then basically function as long review articles in a more technical way. Of course the last one is 4 years old now and doesn´t reflect recent findings (but there are materials on the 5th one, which will start to be released next year).
