It doesn't, in my experience. I've known engineers and programmers who believe all sorts of shit. Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Reptilian Overlords, Moon Landing Hoaxers, 911ers, survivalists, Illuminati, you name it.
most won't be designing a modern car....
now a programmer ...despite any beliefs is still constrained by some fundamentals or his "creation" don't work......see Vista by Microsoft....or OS 7.2 by Apple.
