This is something that made me go hmmmm tonight. The moon's orbit is prograde with respect to the earth's rotation however tonight I noticed that the moon was setting after the sun at a significant angular distance.
Now, the eclipse just happened so I would expect that if the moon is prograde in orbit that it would set before the sun after an eclipse.
The only thing I can think of is that the earths rotation around the sun actually outpaces the moon's orbit. But I can't get the math to work in my head.
