There are some threads where I have gushed about a technology called IPFS. It's a big filesystem (what you normally call your hard-drive) which spans the internet and is accessed peer-to-peer over a bittorrent like protocol. It also uses content based addressing, which is what magnet links are if you still torrent.

This is the way we should be doing high bandwidth content on the internet. http://www.youtube.com is the current norm, but it's a parasite that takes user generated content and sells advertising on it, and it gets away with this evil shit not because Google are any good at this stuff, but because the 1990s protocol can't handle this stuff, and bad guys like Google have no interest in fixing the situation.

This is the better solution. If any of your folk ever put stuff up on youtube, please consider putting it up on d.tube also.
