The other thing I suggest when starting with a new high power GPU is to not fold on the CPU initially to see what the unrestrained GPU does monitoring on GPUZ for utilization and something like MSI Afterburner to monitor and adjust power and temp limits. It used to be we overclocked GPUs for performance now people tend to power limit instead.
