That is not so batty but it is inaccurate as the shortest day is either the 20th, 21st or 22nd. And then only in the Northern Hemisphere. They should celebrate Xmas day 6 months later in Australia, and John the Baptist's birthday in December.
The problem is that you cannot rely on anything you are told by the priest. Not even that.


But it WAS the shortest day on Earth, the entire Earth. When Jesus was born, the world was still flat!
