I think his family and loved ones would be very sad, a sadness reinforced by the necessary chore of going through his possessions and dividing them up to his heirs, disposing of his property according to his wishes and probably putting his house on the market.

I guess there'd have to be a funeral, perhaps a tasteful ceremony at a crematorium. It would only make sense to have a humanist service, in the circumstances (no point praying to God at this point after all). After that his ashes should probably be scattered somewhere he loved. Perhaps the floor of the Sistine Chapel?
