Unfortunately bigots have children. It's not a guarantee that their attitudes will persist. I recall my own grandmother referring to "nignogs" moving in down their road. My mum cringed and immediately told me never to use that word before berating her mother for being out of order. She clearly grew up in a house where racist terms were used but managed to develop a more sensible attitude to people of colour.
I dread to think what my kids would think if I ever uttered something so unbelievably gross.
