I discovered skepticism in the 1980s from reading "Not Necessarily the New Age." That led to an acknowledgement of my latent atheism and helped steer me away from some of the hippie nuttery my friends were into. One of my friends almost died from parasite-infested woo medicine. She didn't drop the nuttery, but I did, and I've been skeptical ever since.

I have an atheist blog where I sometimes post skeptical posts, but I'm not into formal philosophy so I don't feel I have to refrain from cuss words or cite my sources. It's just a blog. By a librarian schooled in the humanities and just a wee bit bitter at not being taught skepticism in school.
