Umm… So, I’m a long time lurker but finally decided to introduce myself and maybe even build up some courage to post in a thread or two.

I’m 41 (soon to be 42) and live in the SE of England. I work full time and am one of those strange people who genuinely loves their job. But that’s about as personal as I get online. I don’t like talking about my life away from keyboard and, similarly, find people’s interests and opinions to be far more interesting than their personal life.

In terms of my interests, they are forever evolving. I’ve always had a bit of a butterfly brain so tend to dip into different subjects depending on the need and mood; I guess, it won’t come as a surprise that I haven’t mastered any of them but my curiosity is limitless, and that’s what makes my life interesting.

I enjoy talking about the relationship between religion, science, and philosophy and find history of ideas fascinating, as it’s a lot more open to nuance. I try to read as much as I can, although I’d had a bit of a dry spell last year, largely due to work commitments. Currently, I’m reading Geoffrey Cowan’s The People v Clarence Darrow. Motivation permitting, I draw but never from imagination, as I lack that skill altogether. Occasionally, I go out locally on photo walks, even less frequently - travel. Music plays an important role in my life and I’m open to all sorts of experiences, although, at heart I’m a bit of a rock chick. I dance when I do house work and have been known to sing in my sleep. Basically, I struggle to take myself seriously and can be pretty irreverent.

I’ve no idea what possessed me to finally write this intro and am not sure what value I could bring to this forum other than being fresh meat. Mainly, I’m here to learn and be bothered.

So, yeah... Hi, everyone!
