Regardless of the accuracy of that statement, it's too common. We probably shouldn't be kissing any babies.
Theres quite a few things that will kill infants that rarely kill adults. If you have an immune compromised infant (which I would guess this case would be) and are putting a virus directly into their blood stream it can't be good.
Whether or not you support circumcision, this is a really weird, fucked up case. Using one's mouth to "clean up" is ridiculously unsanitary. The man should probably be tried for criminal negligence, especially since this isn't the first child he's infected.
