That's simply not true. Not least because your dead corpse is still infectious, but also because there is a period of several days when you are both infectious and mobile (as the index case in Texas demonstrates very nicely).

It is possible that if the virus mutated to a less lethal form then it may become even better at spreading itself around, but given what's going on in West Africa it is safe to say that its already pretty good at doing that, regardless of the fact that it's not airborne (yet).
