What could anyone possibly have against the "i'll ride with you" message? Does it really matter if that story was 100% true? There are no shortage of people in this country (like you) who for some godforsaken reason want to hold every last muslim accountable for a murder they had absolutely nothing to do with, and a small percentage of them are willing to harass muslims in response.
People like you will egg them on right up until the point of violence, where you will then claim they overstepped the mark, even though it would have been patently obvious to every sensible person on the planet that it was going to end up like that.
The actual objection to the "i'll ride with you" message is this: racist people are annoyed that they are being called on their bullshit before they even start.
We all know that on January 26 this year fascists all over the country will attempt to start Cronulla Riots 2.0. The difference now is that as soon as there is a hint of (that kind of) manufactured out-rage occurring, a much larger number of sensible people are taking to social media to tell muslim people that in any such event we have their back, and that most people here don't think they are evil people.
