And here we go with yet another viral story that virtually every media outlet drooled over, and none of them cared to fact check it.
If they're so big on fact checking, they would know that Rachael Jacobs, the woman who tweeted the story of what she wanted to do as if she'd actually had the courage to do so, did not in fact start the viral #illridewithyou campaign. That was started by Tessa Kum:

The fact that Rachael Jacobs didn't speak to the woman who removed her scarf does not change the fact that tens of thousands of Sydneysiders saw fit to publicly express a rejection of the siege being used as a divisive event for political purposes, or an excuse for misdirected revenge from people expressing the sort of intolerant asshattery that is so often represented in your posts here.
