Former Stanford University athlete Brock Allen Turner, 20, raped an unconscious woman behind a dumpster. Prosecutors wanted him put away for 6 years, but the judge, Aaron Persky, gave him 6 months to avoid being unnecessarily harsh on the boy. He'll be out in a few weeks.

Didn't plead guilty, didn't show remorse, and a completely unambiguous case of rape with 2 independent witnesses, and he somehow gets away with 6 months. Another case of someone getting treated leniently because they just happen to be good at sports? Or getting treated leniently, because they can afford a good lawyer?
