Bodyguards leaving their charge to join in a "defensive fight". Even if events were completely as the delegation claim (which seems doubtful to say the least), what kind of bodyguard deserts the person they are guarding whilst there is a disturbance in progress?
Diplomatic handwaving should not get them a free pass to assault US citizens in their own country.
