I suppose it makes it easier to take a stand when you aren't standing for election.

hmmmm...

“I think we’ve reached a point where the entire health care system is in impending crisis,” Gore said at an ABC News panel at the time. “I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that we should begin drafting a single-payer national health insurance plan.”

reluctantly? What an asshole and he has nothing to lose over this. UHC is well out the bag now and the ACA is the wedge that'll drive UHC home and about time too. Just think, if they had this a decade ago and wages hadn't gone to the rich, the middle and working classes would be thousands of dollars richer.

Imagine over the last decade being paid more, let's say £2-3 an hour and then let's add $6k a year from NOT having to buy insurance ... well that's $60,000 better off right there and then assume a 40 hour week, so an additional $120 a week (x52) so $9306 a year ($90k over 10 years) so between the republicans, the democrats and the rich cunts, everyone lost out somewhere between $50k and $150k over the lastc decade and if you couldn't afford insurance - oh then you just died like the sack of shit these assholes think we all are. Literally Trillions were stolen from the people and they were all too stupid to notice.

This is why people can stuff their pragmatism and platitudes up their assholes. 450,000 Americans died over the last decade because they weren't covered by healthcare
