"Extinction Rebellion are on point." Not all of them.

Went to a presentation by one of their....er...members which was full of factual inaccuracies (eg. flood basalt events causing 4 out 5 mass extinctions in the past due to CO2 emissions (eg. blocking sunlight/photosynthesis/foodchain collapse is more likely) and there being reliable data we have only a "5% chance of preventing a 3 degree rise" (such a statistic can obviously not be calculated with any real degree of accuracy) and hysterical predictions of fascism, mass penury in the west and a rise in sexism, amongst other things. All this delivered by a man with a died purple beard who appeared to be on the brink of tears for the whole 2 hour presentation and peppered the talk with "silences" to "grieve and reflect." He also said that direct action should always be peaceful and non-destructive as that kind of direct action never accomplished anything. The Stonewall riots spring to mind so fuck that train. Lehahahame.
