People said similar things about Brunei when it introduced these new homophobic laws. Saudi Arabia's worse. Well yeah, but it's not about which country has which laws, it's about the direction or travel. While Northern Ireland has draconian laws, there's quite a big campaign to have them changed for the better, whereas Georgia and Alabama are moving in the opposite direction.
