We are abandoning Dumbfuckistan this summer. Actually, on the first day of summer, we roll.
This place is too full of simply bad people, and the assaults on my values are simply too numerous to bear. We can move, so we’re going to do so.
The Metatrix’ family is in northern New York state, which is our target location. Her parents have an apartment waiting for us, so we have housing the day we arrive.
We are shipping very little. No furniture or appliances, just personal effects. The stuff that’s in the furniture, that sort of thing. We’ve been offloading stuff that we don’t need already. It’s actually a bit depressing to look at all the shit we have collected over the years, when we critically examine what we really need at the other end. We actually bought the place we have (and the last two, for that matter) with consideration for how our stuff would fit. I think perhaps that is a poor criteria for buying a house.
I’ve endured constitutional violations by a municipal corporation regarding our water since 2019. The only resolution to that is a suit in federal court, like I have the resources to achieve that. This is the main reason I am leaving, but not the only one. We have these fancy fucking constitutions here (federal and state), which sound nice. But there is literally no one, no agency, in government to intervene when some branch of government decides to ignore the constitution. Constitution? It’s a fucking rag. To prove that to the incredulous, pick up a camera and try to record some video of a local police station or jail. Pigs will crawl out of the fucking ground to piss on our first, fourth, and fifth amendments to our constitution.
Last year, the state of Washington passed a law forbidding police to question minors without a lawyer present (sixth amendment). The Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs actually released their legislative priorities to a repeal that law. These motherfuckers want to deny the sixth amendment protections to our children. They say so in public.
The final straw was county commissioners’ actions. They decided to make homeless people illegal on Lewis County land. The weakest among us, the most vulnerable, have no place on Lewis County property they can even exist. Fuck that Nazi bullshit. Of course, they’re ALL republicans (goes without saying, doesn’t it?).
The sheriff here enforces only those laws he approves of. He actually called those of us who abided by masking mandates when the pandemic hit sheep. He made no effort to enforce any of it, actually endangering lives.
Anyway, these are just examples. I have the ability to leave, I’m fucking leaving. I am a god damned refugee in my own fucking country. The same country I spent 25 years in the armed forces to defend. It appears I wasted my life doing that.
So this summer, it’s wagons east.
