I'm sure that wasn't a typical public transport experience though. :)

Well, here's my Republic of Ireland bus-riding-experience.
One fine Sunday morning, I wanted to travel fom Dublin city centre to the lovely town of Enniskerrry in beautiful County Wicklow.
A harmless enough enterprise, one would think. Think twice, is my advice. (new song coming up!)
The mistake was to take the seat in last row at the back of the bus. I need a bit of space around me, so I sat down there.
It all began harmlessly enough: a pleasant ride along country roads and lanes. Until the driver had to brake in earnest for the first time. This unexpected event sent me hurtling forward with my seat, because said piece of bus furniture wasn't properly attached to the metal contraption it normally is welded to.
Every single time the bus braked, I had to cling to a pole for dear life, hoping it wouldn't come off, too.
Having said that, Enniskerry is well worth a visit.
