That happened with my cat, too. We gave her several chances to eat it, and then my wife "pilled" her (force fed her the pill - we were taught how to safely do this by the vet). The next day, same routine. And the next. Eventually she realized that simply eating the pill pocket was a lot more pleasant.
Although I see that it could have worked the other way, too. She could have simply associated the pill pocket with impending unpleasantness. I guess we were lucky.
