Vaughan Oliver. Love his work.

RIP Vaughan Oliver, British graphic designer who was part of the innovative graphic design partnership called 23 Envelope. Between his work at 23 Envelope and as a free lancer, Oliver created around 300 albums covers, many of them for the 4AD label. His work adorned albums by some of the label's staple artists, including Cocteau Twins, Lush, Pixies, Throwing Muses, Dead Can Dance and many others.
Oliver was the first employee label head Ivo Watts-Russell hired to 4AD. Ivo on Vaughan Oliver: "Vaughan singlehandedly opened my eyes to the world of design. In his portfolio he had samples of Thorn EMI light bulb sleeves. It hadn't occurred to me that behind every object, utensil or drainpipe was a designer and I never saw the world in the same way again.Nigel Grierson (of 23 Envelope) was around a lot too and Vaughan and Nigel at full throttle was an experience to remember."
Oliver also designed the fantastic cover for David Sylvian's album Secrets of the Beehive and the single Orpheus.
